The discission for this trip was made Thursday night by Dave and it was hoped that we encounter good conditions.

The first of three sites visited had a solid 20 meters vis,the second 6 metres and the third had 10 to 15 metres vis.

The temp was from 19 to 21c,so it wasn’t to painfull, but the wind was up, the current was there and we had a little to much interest from a set of teeth towards Mike and myself at the free dive site, neither of us had a spear gun with us at the time, though there it is allowed on snorkel, so it was watched quite closely.

The over all day was a little dangerous here and there, but non of us were lacking in experience so over all it was a good day.

The main thing from the day is Mike got his first blue tang and anthia from where we dropped him off at to do free diving till we got back from a scuba dive for photos, well done mate, they are not easy to catch.

This is the bar, the only calm spot on the day?? you get that with westerlies and near no swell.

A friendly 7 foot bull shark underneath us, beside ,around ,you get my drift, it got a little to close at one stage, so that’s when you get up on the reef and get a little cut by barnacles, ouch

A very chunky lunula lion fish, some mistake these for the volitans, the easiest way to see the difference is the lunula has no horns over the eyes.

Over all an uncomfortable day and a little unsafe in the water, but still wonderful while in chasing, swimming with the marine life and seeking out photo opportunities.

All ways a pleasure guys, Danny and I love taking the pics.

We have some good times for sure and the few levels of forum users that check out the forum are accounted for as to what we all like to see in relation to photos taken on our trips.

The inexperienced sports diver, the more experienced divers, free divers that collect or spear fish or both, to the types of pics reef keepers would like to see and maybe something a little different that we have noticed.

We try to include all of these from the trips so all can get the feel of our wonderful south east’s dive adventures and see the mix of tropical and semi temperate life that converge here in the plankton.

Its good to include something other then just collecting and spear fishing when on trips, the camera would have been great over the many years, some things seen and experienced most would not believe, but that’s the ocean for you, vast and amazing.

I would love to have pics of how the water quality has gone down hill over the years and what it is affecting, we see many skeletal remains of wonderful corals from here that don’t exist any more, not collected, they died here and can not live in these changing conditions any more.

Oh well the fisherman and divers like us will be excluded in time and blamed more and more and it is all still dieing, slowely,so its not greatly noticed and will keep disappearing and all things go full circle as usual for our society, but unlike fashion, problems with unruly youth, poverty, these go full circle and can be turned around, the ocean will take many hundreds of years to fix, once they realise that correcting our numbers and subsequent out put, will fix everything.

Sorry I rave on, but I have seen to much and love the ocean.
