Good to know you are nearby. Are you a club member? If so, I will bump into you sooner or later in the collecting trips.

Just a little update. I added some videos showing the internal circulation. Sorry for the poor quality of the videos.

Re Sump

Post  JoelIreland on 18th January 2013, 4:14 pm

Hi and hope you don't mind me asking on your thread but it's nice to see others with the S650.
I am about to set mine up and am considering rebuilding the sump first. Also swapping lights for LED lights.
I thought I might be able to help with my research and someone might be able to help with sump.

With the LED lights, i'm looking at Echotech's Radion XR30w which retail around $799.00.
It looks like these will fit in the front or back area of the light system without too much effort. Just removing the tubes and their housing.
The lights run real cool and the fan is on the bottom. Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

On the sump: I would like a decent refugium so would like someone who specializes in Glass or Acrylic work that could build one for me. Around the same width and depth as the 650 sump but would like it to start with Skimmer - > Refugium - > Filter - > Return.

Thanks for your help.

Before you spend $700 plus on the Leds - check this site- [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] for what its worth they offer Cree 25 x white and 30 x Blue dimmable for $108.00.....in a unit with fans , power supply etc.....

As for the sump - now that will be good fun .....
