It wasnít easy to get out of bed this early but with the ocean you have to except the conditions and the tide and just do it or miss out!

The regular life forms were seen and ignobolis was firing on all cylinders with his collecting and got the catch of the day with a leandrites cleaner shrimp, very nice catch!

The conditions were once we woke up, no wind, slight to no swell,22c to 23c water temperature and near the surface it was around 5 metres vis and from 15 feet and deeper it cleared up to 15 to 20 meters vis, so not a bad morning over all.

These pics represent our clubs morning collecting and a good time was had just free diving around having a look at what we in the south east have in abundance.

Sunrise.

All this abundant algae means a big year for the life forms that have been pushed into our waters over the last month or so or the ones still just out off us coming in with this south-easterly that are still at their planktonic stage of life.

This algae along with others and the bentic life forms amongst it are what it is all about, this is where life can begin, with out this type of thing itís a no show for near all life.

If we donít get a large rain event this will feed all those wonderful aquarium species we see or collect.

This time of year with a strong south easterly, that will make an eddie out off us and the angelfish are abundant out there at the moment so they are all being pushed in as plankton inhabitants and once they are over areas reef noise to sense and a food supply and a spot to live, out of the plankton they come and we will start seeing them from Feb to March as they get a little more game and fossick out side of their hiding spot.

Then it is on, the predators that havenít already eaten them, see them and 99 percent is history and we get to see the rest after predation.
