I always grind the ends of  corals to enable glue to set and not release even if it is wet.
Dry the coral part as much as possible that has been ground with the angel grinder  with tissue paper ready for gluing.

Rough up the rock to ensure good glue adhesion.

About 6 months after this pic the cyclone on the 28th of January wiped out most of this tank from three days with no power.
