Most corals collected for the trade in this country come from waters with temperatures in winter to 18c up to in summer to 28c.
Corals especially stag acropora and elegant forms are at their most concentrated where waves are not concentrated and or strong current.
Waves that produce white water or strong current motion that will propel particles at the polyps with force are quite detrimental to these types of coals.
The none shallow wave side of any reef is good, but you need to go deeper on the wave side of any reef then this side to see nice corals due to the waves that come from the open ocean directions.
