Turbo petholatus or cats eye shell

Post  Admin on 26th August 2009, 8:10 am

Most people that have had a regular walk on a beach has most likely found one these snails operculum,or protective shell door that is left behind after the snail dies as decay has seperated it from the main snail shell.

This disk shaped object is quite thick and is held there by flesh quality to abalone,so good fish food or good on the plate.

Some cats eyes we prepared ealier, lol.

The original snail on an open ocean rock pool trip.

The disk still part of the snail.
