Collecting trip saturday 15th may 2010 Empty Collecting trip saturday 15th may 2010

This day was to be a shore dive down the coast but at the last minute it was changed to a 37 kilometre trip out by boat to parradise.

The day was ridiculously good in that the water was calm, the bar was dead still and the water was clear at 12 to 17 metres vis and warm, especially the second spot where we spent most of the time in the water, it was perfect.

The first spot was just to have a deep dive at and have a swim with a lot of breath taking life; we had a look around in 17 to 26 metres there.

The second spot was at the deepest 16 metres, good for free dive collecting and was the pick of the day with breath taking conditions.

The third spot, that is un known to most every one and is an awesome spot with life that has never been chased with latezonatus amphiprions that will come so close to look at you, they send you cross eyed, we were there to just do some spear fishing for some very nice chunky fish for dinner, sadly no crays this time.

We only collected a few fish at the second spot because with the secret spot it would be a shame to interfere with the immense amount aquarium life forms there for no good reason.

This place is the only one I have seen that has sun burst corals of the regular orange colour side by side with the black finger corals and also the green varieties.

Huge clusters of tube worms, skunk clowns with latezonatus in bright green and red bubble anemones and that is just a small amount of the varied life forms there.

As you can see the heading out was a very nice trip.

Some pics of the first deep spot that is nearly always a bit dangerous for just a scuba dive look around.

Another dive boat on the other side of these waves from us looks a little dangerous, its just the angle of the pic .

The second spot we went to that you can collect at was like a bath tub and very clear water also teaming with life.

The trip back, the water still very clear and it was absolutly beautiful kicking back and having a cuppa as you look over the side at perfectly smooth clear water and up at blue skies on another perfect day collecting.
