New Acanthastrea corals as a single polyp.
As many call them acans, these guys are endemic to australia in particular the east coast of auz and the sunshine coast is full of them!
On many dives, free dives abd low tide walks you can see these guys and collect them out side of marine parks, as a single polyp just starting the colony of which can be of 2 metres across at times.
These are just two of the examples of the thousands we see of the acans at the one polyp stage.
Then of course you get the more confused communities that are now which colour to adhere to as the colony expands.
