Fish acting irately till they die.
The dance is oxygen depletion, always!!!!!
They loose control of their dying nervous system, then the body does what ever till death.
Velvet causes this, severe PH fluctuations can do this, damage to gills usually does this and that can come in many forms, nitrate poisoning can do this, nitrite poisoning can do this, both screw with the bloods haemoglobin and causes Methemoglobinemia, nitrite causes it a lot faster.
it means the blood can not carry oxygen effectively through the body any more.
This can be the case with a fish before you buy it from the time in wholesalers tanks and unbeknown to you it will die in a day or months, or during its time in the bag on the way home the damage has been done.
It can be pot luck that your new fish has not suffered a life threatening action that will take its life!
