Melanopus needs glasses
This tomatoe clownfish is either quite dumb, desperate or maybe blind.
This tube worm may look a bit like an anemone, not really, but it has no sting and it doesn’t have the standard gooey flesh, probably desperate would best describe this pic, cute though.

Not the only one mate, i've noticed my biggest of my local clowns has been sleeping in a very large soft coral i've got as of late.

Saw this today at Phils shop. Rather interesting, although some of my clowns do similar stuff anyway.

Re: Melanopus needs glasses
Thats where it is from
Yeh deadsled,I have found in the past that goniopora in particular is popular with them.
The clown fish shaz which are damsels that have become dependant on an anemone as it’s host as it has developed the exact copy of the mucus on the corals and can ingest a new anemone species mucus and excrete the exact copy of that ones chemical make up, which includes anemones in the coral family, in fact in an aquarium if there is nothing they can relate to as a host they are less mean to other similar species with nothing to guard.
The ocean is the only water they need an anemone to live in and around for protection.
The variations of amphiprions that have developed over the thousands or hundreds of years is great, infact only recently a new species of clown, a melanopus in Vanuatu has become popular with aquarists.
This one started taking over there 20 t0 40 years ago which is a little longer than the mix occuring between the black ocelaris and the percula; this is the best of the melanopus range for sure being tough and very pretty, also very mean though.
