Reef roids
I have just started using a product called "reef roids" made by polyp lab. I use to use zoplan and phtoplan but after i couldn't find it at the store and didn't want to use cytopeze Again as I didn't like it at all last time I used it, I haven't feed my corals for at least 6 months now aftere I ran out of some blended up ocean stuff I lat used.
Has anyone else used Reef Roids? What do u think? It's pretty dear over here one shop wanted $48.95 for a 2 oz container, I am trying to buy it off ebay USA as well, 4 oz for 24 $aus. Just waiting upon a reply to my email for combined shipping, might as well stock up, lol.
I have also read a lot of people saying they soak there tiny amount of reef roids u feed in amino acids for an hour before u put it in the tank and the results are increased even more, I currently use "fuel" By aquavitro when I remember, maybe once a week. I soak my fish and anemone food in it and leave it in the fridge and use it once a day for feeding my fish, that's my main reason why I have it at all.
Has anyone else herd or done anything like is before?

Re: Reef roids
Hi Mate
Personally I haven't done any of the soaking thing - but I like the idea and think there is merit in it. As for reef roids - it is great stuff - I have been using it for 8 months and believe it to be a great food for corals....my Goni loves it in particular so do the zoas, but you have to slow the flow down so the reef roids settle on them. I mix it up with a cup of tank water and just pour it in.
The bulk buy thing from the USA is a great idea count me in
Dam just realised I missed the meeting last night work work work.....

I agree, my corals seem to respond pretty well to them.Ignobolis wrote:Hi Mate

Me too, they're pretty expensive locally and I'll love to get more at a lower price.Ignobolis wrote:The bulk buy thing from the USA is a great idea count me in
Hmmm, you sure you forgot about it or did Dave scared you away after the last meeting's discussion about your "green slime algae" culture?Ignobolis wrote:Dam just realised I missed the meeting last night work work work.....

Re: Reef roids
Cheers for the input guys I will continue to use it then, lol. Rather get ur inputs then go off what the shop "expert" says lol. How often do u's use reef roids? I have done the soaking in fuel thing so far for the last few days so hopefully I see and improvement soon. If I hear anything else from the states about a shipment price I will post something see who is keen.
Ignobolis I was just thinking once my Dallas grows its tips back from my dog face eating them, he is in a different tank now, I will take a frag of it if u want instead of going down to see old mate, be about a month I wold say.
Yeah unfortunately I missed the meeting last night as well, I started that apprenticeship Monday and had to fill out all the paper work with some government person all last night.
P.s. all those frags I got one the weekend r still kickin and lookin good still, was abit worried about them loosening color but seem to be fine so far, even the blue and purple witch I previously had trouble with

Hi Mate
That's very kind, the Dallas is a awesome coral....I have been keeping my water in check and the Nitrates are <2 and phosphate very low as well....hopefully I can get it to 0.
Myself and Dendro will be in on the Roids for sure....maybe some others too.
Very pleased to hear those frags are going well, you guys picked some cool pieces which will look ever better with time.
Congrats on the work mate - great achievement!
