Cowrie shell fish, the big and the small.
A small cowrie species of many in SEQ, this one is found on fan corals and is called Phenacovolva rosea
Alive on fan coral with skin over shell, of which is with all cowries.
Flesh bleached out.
Leopard cowrie, a large local species
Alive with skin over shell
Skin retratced but still alive
Flesh bleached out
They are not the biggest local shellfish, the baler is a lot bigger!
