This link was placed in another section by atdm and maybe it should have a sticky for a few weeks for people to check out what it is all about.

Re: new treatment of white spot and velvet
Finally a reef safe option
Has anyone tried it out?
It is probably the only option for me because trying to catch a tang in a 6 foot tank is near impossible

Vertonix is reef safe, and does whitespot. Although i haven't found it to be overly effective.
Best method i've found to be honest, soak all the food with garlic and let their immune system fight it off.

treatment?
i just thought i would let everyone check it out to see if there is something in it.
Personaly the only treatment that works on parrasites, when the fish is to far gone for water changes,PH buffer, freshwater baths and imune system boosting is something that kills any and all inverts, which are marine parrasites!
The only ones i know of are copper sulphate and cloryquin,i am not sure of the spelling of that one.
the reef safe ones are basicly parrasite annoyers and they ease off if it works!
They have been making reef safe treatments since the late 70s and when we tried them back then they didn't work in the case of full blown attacks either.
