Day out in the new (old) Boat...
Those whom know me would know by now I recently bought a second hand boat to get out on the water in. I took a mate and our wives out for a bit of a run around the local waters - and just happened to have our snorkelling gear with us - so a quick dip and a few pics were taken - these are just some random shots - hope you like -
This is the retro boat - old school and very cool !!!!
Some of the stuff seen whilst snorkelling -
Random acro's
Make a good rear tank peice -
Acan -
Awesome -
And the old Sea Star - there was heaps of these guys keeping our waters beautiful....Lovem....
Enjoy..

Now I recognise that spot. I recon we need to do a trip to a reef off the north point of there.. theres Cromis there!! I realise that's not too exciting but I have a rule for the new tank (no bought fish) and I would like a school of them.

Yeh blue/green chromis are very abundant here, its just they get commercially collected real fast, plus the barrier reef and bi colour chromis as well are common here.
When the blue tangs come along in masses so do the chromis.

Even at our usual spots out wide? do you know how far up the coast you need to go before you can find regal angels and orange clowns?

The premnis clowns aren’t found down here, much further north for them, but the regal angles, yeh I used to collect a few at flinders in the past and out off Mooloolaba up the sunshine coast, they eat corals so you find them in coral rich areas and not in cool waters normally.
The blue green chromis are so prolific at our fav boat spot its not funny from late feb to May, one area of that spot is always jammed with them, until the commercial guys get them.

Went out to my aquarium on a 25 liter tank each way, its pretty good on fuel - has a 90hp Tohatsu 2 stroke, not the best engine but very reliable and brand new....
