Free dive, third one for June 2013

This trip was for some exercise, a few shrimp, two specific fish for other members and our pres wanted to try out his new wetsuit.
We got in and as with this time of year it was quite cold, this was of no concern, because between us there was quite a lot of neoprene covering us all.
My reason for being there as well, a part from loving the ocean and needing some cardio exercise, was to replace the Leandrites cytorhynchus I collected earlier this year that my red line shrimps killed.
It was when the power outage had happened and they were all in a small space and the Leandrites could not get away from the red line killing machines that they are if they can be.
 
The vis was 7 to 12 meters with some rain here and there,the temp was around 20c to 21c and what we came for was found.
We weren’t there long so not many pics were taken by myself and our pres so this is it for the day.

Always plenty of cone shell fish to be seen hunting.

Leandrites cytorhynchus are by far the coolest shrimp in the world and take observing aquariums to a whole new level.

Glad to hear the wet suit worked out well - 6mm was it?

It's Danny’s new one.
It is the really stretchy neoprene and it is 4 and 3 mill,and his new hood is 5 and 3 mill.
Very nice gear!!
He recons it was like being in summer water temps with the new wetsuit, my semi dry zip kept coming open,eeerrrrr,cold,lol.
I have set up a three foot equivalent tank for the shrimp and I am going to see if the leandrites and the dancing shrimps will breed in there.
It looks as nice as my invert tank in that one now.
