Amphiprion Latezonatus clown fish
These fish collected are results of a couple of trips recently to get some for a breeding program or two and the clubs display that we have, this one being one of two major displays we put on.
We know where there are several communities of them in water shallower than usual.
This makes them easier than normal to keep in an aquarium.
They are quite easy to keep, though getting them from shallowish water defeats some of the water quality problems associated with them growing in deep water and no need to worry about them getting bent on the way up and suffering eye problems.
There are a few things we found out about the latz.Firstly they have some body temp control as we found their body temp was higher than others in the same aquarium.
They don't seem to do well over a long time under intense lighting, probably because they are normally found in water to deep to recieve a lot of UV light and a certain light spectrum.
This may account for there frequent blindness occuring, other than from just the collection from deep water rendering them bent to some degree placing unwanted bubbles internaly, which can cause eye probs when these bubbles reach the eye nerves or just build up behind the eye and force it out wards.
