ausy magpies are spoilt
This is from a friend of my dads that has a regular visitor in the house,on the table wanting the best parts of your dinner!!

wow-- thats one large maggie ! standing very proud -- and sharp eyes --- is he a regular visitor still ?
we had one that we reared from a baby called--- sticky beak---- fed him with an eye dropper was so very sweet , the kids took him school for show and tell also .. all those years ago . He used to fly into our cottage and land on our dining table and share left overs cute ...

yeh it is sought of a shame that the keeping of them was made ilegal from the mid to late seventies
They make wonderful members of the family and good as regular visiting neighbours.
I always had a frogmouth owl (kingfisher) plus,magpie,galah,cockatoo,some very rare birds now and snakes all wild caught as a child,oh well things change,i suppose if they didn't life would be hard to live.
