Horror movie time again, staring the bobbit worm!
The bobbit worm (Eunice aphroditois) named after Lorena Bobbit that is famous for cutting off her husband’s penis in 1993 in the US, the worm was given this name because it attacks the males penis and feeds it to her offspring once they have mated, what a caring and loving relationship that must have been.
I suppose that beats chains and whips, actually that sounds interesting?????
The way they lay in wait is down right scary!
The worm can grow to a size of one to one and a half metres and around two and a half centimetres wide.
If one of these are found it is most certainly not safe to put anything resembling a penis near that set of choppers.
This little? Nasty is found in the indo pacific and feeds primarily at night, it waits for its prey to swim or move over head this sets off a very strong set of jaws and the prey is then dragged down into the sea floor to be devoured.
As you can see by the first pic, it has antennae and they have very effective sensing organs built in to detect the minutest movement of prey.
