Australian native parrots in suburbia
This flock comes over our house most days and this day they were next door to a mates place up the road at a recent visit chewing around on the grounds of the new small housing estate next door.
You could walk up to with in 3 metres of them and there were hundreds there with their young squawking their heads of for food, what a racket!
Corelers, galahs and a few cockatoos, a very nice sight to see, but very loud.

Re: Australian native parrots in suburbia
We have those birds coming around morning and evening.
The lady up the road feeds them, usually at 6 o'clock on a Sunday morning.
The last thing I want at that time of the morning is a flock of screaming cockatoos and galahs.
Then we have the visitors to the palm trees near our bedroom window.
Nothing sounds like fifty Rainbow Lorikeets fighting over the nectar from the palm flowers.
But they are sure fun to watch as they hang upside down, still trying to fight and eat.
It is not much fun when they fly off and drop messages from above.
If you stand under lorikeets when they take off I would suggest an umbrella or a rain coat.
