new tank!!!!
Hey i got a new tank guys and gals and it has nearly finished cycling.
I did what you said to do with a cycle and it was so fast.I am going to put in my first fish next week and would like some advice as to what to put in there.
I have one third of tank in volume of live rock and just got a few corals, jardini, torch and finger corals.
The tank was started on the tricle like you said and i did another small cycle on the live rock and the corals and all parameters are perfect, just a little nitrate and it is getting lower.
I am using some buffer(seachem) for a few weeks and the skimmer is pulling out very little now,so i am ready.
The tank is only 3/2/2 feet.
I want to have at least two wrasse and any angels that i can.
What is the overall opinion guys on what i should get,i want it to go really well this time.

Cool roy.
Sounds great Roy.
That was very fast,i thought you were not allowed another tank?
To answer to the which fish question, some good ones are-for a reef tank-Most tangs are good especialy the Acanthurus leucosternon,Zebrasoma flavescens and, although can get a little large, the Naso lituratus as well.
Most tangs and surgeons are okay, except the Acanthurus lineatus, they are normally a bit aggressive and a little psycho.
Most all the blennies are cool, dartfish and gobies are normally good.Though some gobies need a substrate for feeding from.
The istiblennius varieties are very good algae eaters and are harmless, but they may try to jump out.hey if you can find one the Salaria pavo bleenie is very cool,we see heaps pf them on our trips.
If you are going to get a wrasse,go for the small full size ones such as cleaner wrasse, banana wrasse those sought of ones,if it can attain more than 4 to 5 inches full size, forget it.
No damsels!!There is a species like a damsel, chrysiptera starcki, they are a good natured fish on average.
Most chromis are okay.
Angelfish-most of the Chaetodontoplus varieties are good, though they grow big.
The Genicanthus varieties of angels are cool and the flame and coral beauty, dwarf angels, are normally okay.
All Heniochus (bannerfish) are very good.
Forcipigers are good, copper bands as well.
Chaetodons are coral eaters,so give them a miss.
Batfish are a safe bet. They can be a bit weak though.
Most goatfish are cool.
Any cardinals are good, just watch your tiny fish or inverts, they have a large mouth.
Anthias,same as the cardinals.
There you go mate, for fish, thats about it,if you go outside these, you are on your own.
For a fish only tank it can be a bit different.
PS,i typed this for my dad.
