Dive trip Sunday the 8th May 2011
The weather was good and the seas were flat.
On arrival it looked like the visibility was going to be very good, but there were lots of particles floating around in the water to reduce the visibility.
The water was a bit on the cool side, it was still a good dive. The coral is still there, but mainly in deeper water. Plenty of fish life to keep things interesting.
While the others went collecting, I played around with the camera flash to try and get some photos while attempting to reduce the backscatter. Any one who has used a flash in the water will know it takes a lot of trial and error.
Most of the fish were difficult to get close to, these fish were hiding inside little caves with the long spine sea urchins.
Some type of scorpionfish.
There were plenty of Wobbegongs laying on the bottom.
The business end of a Wobbegong.

Nice pics as usual Ianqld,no matter how ordinary it gets at times, your pics seem make it look all that much better.
The vis was okay, but i must admit the vis was only from 4 to 8 metres, dpepending on where we were for each dive.
On this trip we headed off before the sun had risen, as you do when you are so keen your common sense that would help you realise it is cold, fails and off you go collecting, lol.
It was, once the sun had been up for a while, a beautiful semi warm day with a very glassy still ocean, the way things were,it was more like September than May.
The day started with a wonderful sunrise and a cold morning.
A very pretty crab seen.
Some late photos by straddy boy.
One of the many tasty looking sharks around on the day.
A cone shell.
Nice looking urchins we see.
