1961 Holden EK Custom Build Thread.
So, since Greazefest is coming in like 3 months, i'm trying to get my EK finished for it. I'm sick of seeing this thing just sitting in the carport, so some other oldschool car mates of mine convinced me to pull my finger out and get the EK done and on the road since its already half finished. They will be helping me when i need a hand, but for now i should be able to get most of it done on my own.
So anyway, pics and stuff.
So, this is how it all looked after we moved our '66 Holden HR (it SHOULD be going to Townsville this weekend..) and got the place kind of cleaned up.
Then after i pulled all the front off today..
Lol, put my Kingswoods spare on 2 weeks ago so the EK had wheels to sit on while i used the jack stands, and now one of them is stuck on and can't get it off. Oh well, makes it easier to store the front end.
No reason for the tape.. i just like to erm.. tape things. No surprises here, nothing to see..
More to come soon

So heres some more pics.
Donor door. As you can see, i've masked off the handle end for what i needed for the main door, but i've also masked off a bit on the lower right side. That part will be used to fix some of the rust in the lower left of this door. Although, i also have a scrap from the other door that i cut up so i might use that instead. Either way, it'll get used somehow.
Gettin ready to cut..
First cut is always the hardest.. all downhill from here.
Piece that i needed.
Main door, cutting off the scrap bit (door handle end).
Scrap bit, will be used for rust panels / maybe parts for when i chop the roof.
Bit that i needed for the drivers door.
Front two are what i need, rear blue door is scrap / rust repairs. I will probably use the quarter glass frame though from that door. Its very good condition.
Door tacked together. Still will need a bit of adjustment / pie cutting in a few spots to line some things up but other than that its fitting up pretty sweet so far.
Thats it so far. More to come tomorrow night.

Cheers Andre. I have enough people already keen to help, but i usually work alone i seem to get more done that way. Only time i ask for help is moving stuff, or holding stuff. Other than that i'm pretty much alone when it comes to car work
I can't wait to have it on the road, already owned it just over two years.

Re: 1961 Holden EK Custom Build Thread.
So little bit of an update. I've been super busy with work lately so haven't gotten as much as i'd liked to have done.. but heres where i'm up to so far..
Also, buying another almost rust free EK sedan for 500, except the current owner needs the passenger side A pillar for his other car.. so basically its going to be all cut up and i'll be saving the roof, rear quarters / boot area, floorpan bits, front pillar stuff and heaps of other shit off it including all the hanging panels, trims, glass, ect ect.. and be using some and selling / trading the rest. Fucking rad!
So anyway.. onto the pics.
Door before i finished welding it all up. Still has a little bit to be done now, which will get finished probably tomorrow.
And the door hanging on the car just for looksies.

So heres some more pics. The drivers door is just about done, just needs a tiny little bit more metal work and it'll be ready to do the bodywork on.
